Jordanian police in Zarqa, east of the capital Amman, have intensified their search efforts to arrest the murderer of a 41-year-old divorced woman who was found strangled and badly beaten near the Zarqa River last week, reported the Jordan Times newspaper.
The decomposing body of the victim, S.H., was discovered on Saturday by passers-by who informed authorities, source told the paper.
Upon discovering the body, police reviewed their missing persons files and noted a family in Zarqa had reported their daughter missing on February 25th.
The family in question then positively identified the body as that of their daughter who had been missing for almost a week, the source added.
Officials were told the woman had been divorced almost six months prior to her death and often stayed with a friend in Zarqa, but that last week she did not return, added the paper -- Albawaba.com
