Madinat Jumeirah, The Arabian Resort – Dubai, welcomes the hysterically funny black comedy, Abigail’s Party, which as part of the Madinat Theatre Season will run from 20th – 22nd September. This is the second in a season of three plays, the first being the incredibly successful play ‘The Woman in Black’. The Madinat Theatre season is presented by Cadillac and supported by HELLO! magazine.
The play is set in 1977 and is about a couple, Beverly and Laurence, who have invited their new neighbours, Angela and Tony, to a welcome party. Also invited is Susan, whose teenage daughter, Abigail, is holding her own party three doors away. The evening begins with small-talk and niceties, but the sense of growing marital strain between Beverly and Laurence, Susan’s anxiety as to what Abigail is up to, and the fantastically tactless remarks by Beverly and Angela fuel a mounting tension which finally snaps in a shocking climax.
