Nearly 10,000 Bahraini job seekers will get cash assistance until they are found places in training schemes, according to a royal decree issued Monday by the emir, Sheikh Hamad al-Khalifa.
Until November, married job seekers will get BD100 (US$256) a month, while singles will get BD70 (US$168) a month, reported the Gulf Daily.
In addition, tudents at the Bahrain Training Institute are to be exempted from paying fees for a year, unless they are sponsored by employers, said the decree.
The package is part of the BD25 million two-year scheme announced by the cabinet on Sunday, which is aimed at beefing up training opportunities for Bahraini job seekers.
An official said the scheme would apply to women, who make up 34 percent of the Bahrainis registered as unemployed.
"The schemes are aimed at creating job and training opportunities for school-leavers, dropouts and university graduates in certain fields," he told the paper - Albawaba.com
