Japan’s Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi arrived in Saudi Arabia on Sunday for talks on Middle East peace and the situation in Iraq, the Japanese embassy said.

According to an embassy official, Koizumi was received at the airport by Saudi Crown Prince Abdul Aziz and was likely to also meet with King Fahd.

Koizumi told Asharq Al-Awsat Sunday that his talks would deal with Iraq’s reconstruction and achieving peace between Palestinians and Israelis. In addition, he called for an international conference to assist Iraq. (Albawaba.com)
