Jabra, a leading brand of audio products for the mobile consumer market, today announced a new category of Bluetooth® headsets with the launch of its ground-breaking Jabra BT8010.  The product is designed for users that demand a high-performance headset for use with their Bluetooth phone but also want the ability to convert it to a full-function stereo unit to listen to music.

Ahmed Elkalliny, Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, MEA for Jabra, says “We set out to create a headset that combines high performance mono and stereo headset functionality in the kind of design users have come to expect from Jabra.  The BT8010 contains some of the most advanced features we’ve ever been able to squeeze into a headset but with its unique set of customizable tools and Jabra’s trade-mark ease-of-use, it makes switching between calls and listening to music as simple as ABC.”

The BT8010 offers outstanding phone functionality – such as a personalisable phonebook, caller ID and up to 10 hours talk time – but with the attachment of a second headset, it becomes a high-performance stereo unit enabling the user to switch seamlessly between using their phone and listening to music. Despite its extremely advanced functionality, though, the headset is among the easiest to use in its class with features such as autopairing for easy connection to Bluetooth-enabled handsets and a jogwheel for easy navigation of the BT8010’s menus and volume adjustment.

In addition to its phone functionality, the BT8010 comes with a range of features more normally associated with dedicated music headsets and has a Multipoint connection which allows simultaneous connection to two devices such as a PC and a phone, or music player and phone.
“The number of phones capable of playing music is set to double in the next two years, reaching 700 million units worldwide in 2008,” said Ahmed Elkalliny. “As more people access their favorite tunes via their phone, a convertible headset that will allow you to switch between music and calls will become indispensable.”

The BT8010 comes with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology that provides ultra-clear audio quality and features Jabra’s stylish design.  It is expected to retail at AED 399 and will be available early December.

Jabra BT8010 key features:
• Display and jog wheel for easy operation
• Multipoint connections so you can connect two devices at once e.g. MP3 player and mobile phone
• Personalisable phonebook and stereo settings
• Up to 10 hours talk time / up to 6 hours music streaming / up to 300
hours standby time
