Istithmar appoints key members across Investment Funding and Legal Affairs

Omar Anabtawi has over 16 years experience in financial markets and wealth management in leading financial institutions. He started his career in 1991 with Banque Nationale de Paris, London as a Foreign Exchange and Treasury dealer servicing the needs of European and Middle Eastern Central Banks and Supernationals. He worked at different stages as a discretionary portfolio manager for the Private Banking arm of Credit Agricole Indosuez, in London, Geneva and Paris; and for The Citigroup Private Bank, London, covering Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and Family Offices. Anabtawi was an Associate Director of the London based Tactica Fund Plc., a fund managed by Goldman Sachs International, and Victoire Finance Capital Fund LLC, a New York-based Hedge Fund. He was also involved in several high profile real estate transactions in the UK and mainland Europe. More recently, Anabtawi held the position of Vice President at Abraaj Capital, Dubai. Anabtawi joins Istithmar as Director of Investment Placements.
He holds a BA in Business Administration with Minors in Economics and Marketing from Richmond University in London.

 

 

 


 
Nick Hornung, who heads Istithmar’s Legal Department, has joined as Director and Senior Legal Counsel. He brings with him almost ten years  experience advising corporate clients in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, working within the wider strategic framework to package and deliver practical commercial and legal advice. As part of his professional experience, Hornung has handled many top multinational clients across different sectors and industries, from hotels to financial services, from telecommunications to energy, with wide experience of advising on large-scale corporate transactions.
Prior to joining Istithmar, Hornung was a Managing Associate Solicitor with leading international law firm Linklaters based in London, Singapore and Hong Kong, where he specialized in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and IPOs. Hornung is a practising Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, holds a Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law in Chester in the UK and an MA in Law and Natural Sciences from Cambridge University in the UK.
