For the second time in two days, an Israeli Arab citizen was killed Saturday as a result of Israeli gunfire in the West Bank.
The Israeli Arab doctor was killed when Israeli troops opened fire at his car next to a military checkpoint outside the village of Beit Umar, north of Hebron.
Israel Radio identified the man as Mahmoud Ali Z'khaika, 38, from East Jerusalem. It was unclear if he died from gunshot wounds or injuries sustained when his car overturned.
According to the Israeli soldiers, the doctor did not heed a call by troops to stop at a roadblock after leaving Beit Umar, Israel Radio reported. The soldiers opened fire at the vehicle, Z'khaika lost control and the car overturned. (Albawaba.com)
