An Egyptian court has sentenced an Israeli singer, a British businessman and a Dutch woman to three year jail terms and fines for possessing drugs while touring the Sinai desert, according to the daily Al Akhbar.
The daily said the Israeli singer, Israel Bwight, 36, was captured in Taba on his way to Egypt carrying a bundle of a plant referred to as “bango” in the boot of his car.
The newspaper added that the British businessman, James Alexander Garsol, 37, was captured in a police ambush while carrying drugs.
A Dutch babysitter was also captured carrying bango while wandering in Dahab area.
