A security adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak arrived in Moscow on Wednesday for talks with Russian foreign ministry officials, Interfax news agency said.
Dany Yatom is expected to stay only a few hours in Moscow where he will meet with the number-two at the foreign ministry, Alexandre Avdeyev.
Russia is a co-sponsor of the Middle East peace process and Yatom's visit comes only 24 hours after Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat had talks in Washington with Bill Clinton about the US President's latest proposals for unblocking the stalled peace negotiations.
"Russia is following Middle East developments closely," said a ministry spokesman -- MOSCOW (AFP)
