The Israeli parliament began a debate Monday on a motion of censure against Prime Minister Ehud Barak, introduced by the right-wing Likud party in protest over concessions it said he has made ahead of this week's peace summit with the Palestinians.
The session is to consider a motion that objects to "concessions by Barak and his capitulations to Palestinian president Yasser Arafat before the summit begins."
If 61 of the 120 members of the parliament vote in favor of the motion, Barak would be forced to call new elections - OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (AFP)
