Two Hamas activists, who according to Israel, had been involved in firing mortar shells at Gaza Strip settlements were killed Friday morning by Israeli tank fire in the Khan Yunis refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip.

Palestinians identified one of the Hamas men as Iyad Muhammed A-Sir, 30.

A mortar shell hit a house in a Gaza Strip settlement Friday morning, causing some damage but no injuries, Israel Radio reported. The mortar shell was one of many fired at the Gaza Strip settlement bloc of "Gush Katif" since Thursday night, following the assassination of Adnan Al-Ghoul, the No. 2 figure of the Hamas military wing.

Six of the mortar shells, most of which were fired at the Gaza Strip settlement of "Neveh Dekalim", hit residential buildings, causing much damage but no injuries. (albawaba.com)
