A high-ranking Israeli security delegation is currently visiting India, aimed at designing closer security and intelligence cooperation in the fight against Islamic movements in the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent, Israeli media reported Wednesday.
Israeli media sources said the delegation, led by Major General Uzi Dayyan, who heads Israel's National Security Council, held extensive talks with Indian security officials in New Delhi on Tuesday night.
The discussions reportedly focused on what was termed "exchanging information and expertise on combating Islamic extremism."
Meanwhile, other press reports indicated that India was interested in purchasing the Arrow missile technology from Israel.
The anti-missile missile was developed a few years ago jointly by Israel and the United States and can be used to intercept both incoming long-range missiles as well as warplanes.
Earlier this year, Pakistan reportedly warned that it would help Arab countries develop nuclear weapons if Israel continued to provide India with a qualitative military technology, IRNA added. (Albawaba.com)
