Israeli attack in Gaza Strip as Palestinian leader urges factions to respect ”calm”

An Israeli aircraft fired a number of missles on Palestinian targets in the Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, reports indicated on Wednesday. According to Israeli press reports, the target of the attack was a group of Palestinians armed with mortar launchers.

 

This incident took place hours as Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas was set to will meet leaders of Hamas and other Palestinian factions during his visit to Gaza on Wednesday.

 

Abbas told journalists before he left the West Bank city of Ramallah “I’m not worried about (the continuation of the) calm because all factions know their responsibilities,“ RNA reported.
