The number of incidents in the territories has dropped considerably but the number of casualties has gone up, a senior Israeli army officer told The Jerusalem Post Tuesday.
The unnamed officer said there were no restrictions on the army with regard to how to react.
He said the Intifada had given way to guerilla warfare by small units against specific targets, particularly those in the Palestinian territories. Most of the attacks have been in the Ramallah area, he noted.
In the past week, there were 35 incidents as compared with 160 in the first week of December, said the paper.
