Israel says Jenin operation to last several days; Fatah executes woman in Nabuls

The Israeli army completed Saturday morning its withdrawal from Palestinian-controlled areas of the West Bank town of Hebron, Israel Radio reported.  

 

Israel's Hebron brigade commander handed to the Palestinian governor of Hebron security responsibility over the city.  

 

Meanwhile, the Israely army continued Saturday a major new operation in Jenin -"Operation Vanguard". It was expected to take several days and was said to be the largest in the city in more than six months. A senior Israeli officer said that they were readyfor an "indefinite stay" in Jenin to prevent new attacks inside Israel. 

 

Meanwhile, a 39-year-old Palestinian woman was executed Friday night in the West Bank city of Nablus after she was suspected of cooperating with Israel. Fatah's Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed responsibility for the execution.
