As Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepared to leave Tuesday for his European tour, British officials have so far declined an Israeli request that Netanyahu be invited for talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Israel Radio reported.

Blair's recent invitation to Labor leader, Amram Mitzna for talks in London angered Foreign Ministry officials, who were quoted as criticizing Blair for interference in domestic Israeli politics ahead of the January 28 general elections, the report said.

"Israel's embassy in London was asked yesterday to ask try to get Netanyahu a meeting of his own with Blair during the Netanyahu visit there, but for the time being the answer is negative," the radio said. (Albawaba.com)
