Israeli forces bombed targets in the southern Gaza Strip early on Sunday. Four Palestinians were injured in at least nine raids, including three policeman and a baby who was hit in the face with shrapnel, Palestinian medics said.
Bridges in the northern Gaza Strip were also bombed, cutting roads for thousands of people, Palestinian sources noted. Israel said the bridges were bombed to prevent from Palestinian gunners to reach the areas from which they launch rockets at Israeli targets.
In a separate incident, Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian attempting to bomb a military patrol on the Gaza-Israel border late on Saturday, a Palestinian group said. The man, from the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) faction, was killed as he lay mines along a road patrolled by the Israeli military near the Erez Crossing in the northern Gaza Strip, a spokesman for the group said.
