Mohammed Al-Hindi, a senior leader of the Islamic Jihad Movement, said on Thursday that it would not participate in the Palestinian parliamentary elections, slated for January 2006.
In a press conference held in Gaza, Al-Hindi affirmed that the Islamic Jihad is still committed to its constant political stand of boycotting election, RNA reported.
Al-Hindi also called on forming a national committee for administrating the liberated lands of Gaza Strip as Israel plans to start its pullout next week.
Meanwhile, Israeli military and police forces on Thursday afternoon ended their final joint training session ahead of next week's evacuation from the Gaza Strip. Some 10,000 police and soldiers took part in the drill in the southern part of Israel.
