Iraqi Kurdish leaders to visit Turkey

Kurdish leaders from northern, Iraq Jalal Al-Talbani and Masoud Al-Barzani are expected to visit Ankara this week for talks with Turkish officials on developments in Iraq, according to Turkey’s NTV. 

 

It quoted a Turkish Foreign Ministry source as saying that Ankara would review with both leaders the United States’ request to allow around 5,000 people of the Iraqi armed personnel from the Iraqi opposition to cross into the Turkish territories towards northern Iraq to participate in a possible military strike against the Baghdad regime.  

 

In addition, it said that Ankara would convey a last official warning to the two men concerning bids to establish a Kurdish state in Northern Iraq. (Albawaba.com)
