Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz made an unannounced visit to Tunis Monday to review "political aspects" of the Iraqi crisis with President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, according to TAP news agency said.

Aziz, who arrived in Tunisia from Algeria, discussed with Ben Ali "the political aspects of the Iraqi crisis and the international and Arab positions" on the subject, the agency said.

While Taziz said that Iraq is "ready for all possibilities," Ben Ali said Tunisia was ready "to work to avoid a military solution and solve the crisis with political and diplomatic means," TAP added.

Meanwhile, quoted by the BBC, Aziz said "Saddam Hussein will never leave his country but will stay there until the last Iraqi shot is fired".

"The danger will be greater for Iraq if the president leaves," Aziz said during his visit to Algeria. (Albawaba.com)
