Iraq: Two Americans die in copter crash

A U.S. Army reconnaissance helicopter shot down in the northern city of Mosul Friday, killing its two pilots. According to the AP, the armed OH-58 Kiowa was on a combat air patrol with another Kiowa when it went down.

 

Lt. Gen. John Vines, chief of the Multi-National Corps Iraq said that there were indications the crash was due to "hostile" fire. Soldiers on the ground heard some firing in the area when it crashed. Both pilots died in the crash, confirmws Lt. Col. Barry Johnson, a U.S. military spokesman in Baghdad.
