Iraq has announced it has shot down an Iranian surveillance plane near Mendali, 400 kilometers (250 miles) northeast of Baghdad, Al Jazeera satellite channel reported Thursday.
The incident comes just one day after Iran launched a wave of missile attacks on Tehran's Iraq-based armed opposition that left at least three dead and 19 injured -- Albawaba.com
