Iraq, Iran Exchange Remains of Soldiers Killed in First Gulf War

Iran and Iraq exchanged on Tuesday the bodies of soldiers who died in the course of their eight-year war in the 1980s, according to Iran’s official news agency (IRNA). 

The bodies of 78 Iranians and 64 Iraqis were exchanged in Dehloran region by delegations from the two countries. 

The head of the Iranian committee in charge of searching for bodies of those missing in action, Brigadier Mir-Feisal Baqerzadeh, called for continuation of such exchanges, said the report. 

Tens of thousands of soldiers from both sides were reported killed in the first Gulf War, which saw the United States sell weapons to both sides – Albawaba.com
