Dubai-based Trade Circle Technical Industries (TCTI), the region’s leading cold store and refrigerated truck manufacturer, aims to use experience gained during the Iraq rebuilding programme to make major business gains in Libya.
A division of WAFI Industrial LLC, TCTI will launch its bid to break into Libya’s fast –expanding food market during the ‘UAE in Libya’ exhibition taking place in Tripoli in November.  The event is presenting UAE-based businesses with a ‘gateway’ to capitalise on Libya’s new era of growth and development.
The company, which has completed several projects under the UN ‘Oil for Food’ programme through its Baghdad office, sees Libya as a significant new market which can give a fresh boost to the company’s revenues.
“Libya is an extremely exciting market for us now final sanctions have been lifted and the country is entering a period of massive foreign investment and enterprise,” said Subeash Sumanasekera, assistant general manager of TCTI.
“Experience gained in Iraq prepares us for doing business in a re-opened market and we hope this knowledge, along our presence at ‘UAE in Libya’, will give us a competitive edge.”

Products being introduced by TCTI in Libya include cold stores and freezers, food distribution centres and refrigerated trucks.  The company also sees potential in providing ‘cold chain solutions’ for perishable products, supporting Libya’s agricultural market.

TCTI currently supplies and manufactures goods for the Gulf, Africa and Asia regions, which make up the majority of TCTI’s customer base.

Established in Dubai in 1978 to cater for the region’s growing demand for complete cold-chain solutions, TCTI has diversified into various related fields including pipe insulation, fibreglass products and glass reinforced concrete.

Taking place between 27-30 November, the ‘UAE in Libya’ exhibition is organised by Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority and Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

Designed to reinforce business links between the two countries, the event is project-managed by Streamline Marketing and has an official website at www.uaeinlibya.com for companies wishing to know more.
