Iran's president-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that he would try to benefit from all capacities of the country to form his future cabinet. Speaking at a press conference on sidelines of his meeting with Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Ahmadinejad said in the next few days he would unveil his stances on the future cabinet.
Haddad-Adel congratulated Ahmadinejad on his landslide victory, voicing the Majlis readiness to help him and his future government. According to IRNA, he proposed that Ahmadinejad's swearing-in ceremony as Iran's 9th president be held at the old premises of Majlis in Baharestan Square. "This will mark the start of Majlis assistance to the future government ... this will be a good opportunity (for the president-elect) to hold meetings with some people in Majlis during the swearing-in ceremony," said Haddad-Adel.
Ahmadinejad swept to the presidential post with a stunning 17,046,441 (some 62%) votes while his rival and Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani gained 9,841,346 out of a total of 27,536,069 votes cast in the runoff election.
