Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh called on Wednesday for more contribution from the private sector to the national oil, gas and petrochemical projects, saying the ministry encourages development of privatization in the oil industry.

"The oil ministry maintains interaction between Iranian and foreign companies in construction of equipment needed in the national

oil industry," Zanganeh said, cited by Iran’s news agency (IRNA).

His remarks came during the opening session of the International Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition, attended by some 65 British oil and gas companies.

283 domestic and 209 foreign companies are attending the exhibition, said IRNA – Albawaba.com
