Car production by Iran’s two major auto manufacturing companies, Saipa and Iran-Khodro increased from March to July this year by some 9,195 units, a 20 percent growth compared to the corresponding period last year, reported the official Iranian news agency (IRNA) on Wednesday.

Organization (IDRO) said that "during this period, Saipa's production of Pride cars, with an increase of 17 percent, compared to a year before, reached 22,998," adding that Iran Khodro's production of Peugeot RD as well as Peugeot 405 and Peugeot Pars cars, with 30 percent and 41 percent increases respectively compared the last year, stood at 7,863 and 7,974 units.
It noted that over the four-month period, Iran-Khodro produced also some 689 Benz trucks as well as 405 Volvo F-12 ones which, it said, indicate 62 percent and 56 percent rises compared to the corresponding period last year.
"Meanwhile, the company has produced some 626 new Paykan X-7 and Peugeot 206 cars which will be delivered in the near future," the IDRO said – Albawaba.com
