Iranian President Mohammed Khatami arrived in Istanbul Sunday evening at a head of a high-level delegation.
While in Istanbul, Khatami is expected to participate in the seventh summit conference of the countries of the economic cooperation organization (ECO).
The Iranian news agency reported that Khatami would meet on the sidelines of the summit with heads of ECO member states to discuss the recent regional and international developments, especially the Palestinians and the Iraqi issues. ECO includes Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kirkizia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.
From Istanbul, the Iranian president is scheduled to continue on to Ukraine. (Albawaba.com)
