An Iranian journalist returned home on Thursday after he went missing Monday evening, according to the official Iranian news agency (IRNA), quoting a local report.
The wife of Hamid-Reza Kaviani told the daily Hambastegi that her husband was not in good health and that he had undergone medical treatment.
She also said that “Kaviani is not willing to give any report on his four-day disappearance.”
In mid-April, unidentified people took Kaviani to an unknown place and freed him hours later following an interrogation, said IRNA.
Kaviani is a member of the editorial board of the reformist daily Hambastegi.
Previously, he worked for the now-banned dailies of Salaam and Khordad.
Salaam was the first reformist daily to be closed last year.
Conservative-dominated courts have also closed nearly 40 papers and put dozens of reformist journalists in jail since April 2000, when a massive clampdown was launched against the pro-reform press - Albawaba.com
