Iran has opened bidding on some US$8 billion in housing and infrastructure projects to foreign firms, said the official news agency IRNA.
Some 30 international firms joined 90 Iranian companies for a two-day construction conference at which US$7.84 billion in projects were up for grabs, it reported.
Among the construction projects are more than 100 residential and commercial properties worth a total of US$1.3 billion and eight railway lines valued at US$5.7 billion, said the agency.
Iran is also soliciting bids for work on a highway to link Tehran to the Caspian Sea along its northern border, as well as other projects including bridges, mosques and hotels.
Firms from Australia, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Switzerland, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine also took part, IRNA said – Albawaba.com
