Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi on Monday referred to the agreement reached between Iran and the European Union (EU) on Tehran's nuclear programs as "the best decision ever made on the issue."
Speaking at his weekly press briefing, he said the details of Iran-EU3 (Britain, Germany and France) agreement will be announced later in the day. Terming the discussions held between the two sides as "crucial," Asefi said there was a qualitative difference between this agreement and the previous ones.
"In the past, Europe and other countries insisted on Iran halting its enrichment program, while the new agreement discusses how Iran can continue its program without worrying other countries. This is a very important and qualitative difference," he added.
In the Iran-EU agreement, the Islamic Republic's legitimate right of access to "peaceful nuclear technology has been stressed and we have not at all passed over the red lines, Asefi said, according to IRNA.
He noted that none of Iran's rights has been violated and that the voluntary suspension of the country's nuclear activities has been emphasized upon. ]
On his part, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Hassan Rowhani said on Monday that in the agreement with the EU all Iran’s nuclear red lines and principles have been specified.
