Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Monday that if the talks between Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani and EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana are not disrupted by political interference, it is possible for them to reach a proper outcome.
According to IRNA, the statement was made at a joint press conference with the visiting Omani Foreign Minister Youssef bin Alawi.
Mottaki noted that various countries have been supporting such talks from the beginning. Concerning the recent remarks of the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice about the need for revising US policy on Iran, he said that her statement, as reflected in the media, suggests the country's new stance. Turning to similar comments by another American female official, he said that ladies in the US seem to have more courage in expressing the truths.
"Rice's statements are being examined with a positive look and we will declare the outcome of our assessment once we get her exact words," he added.
