Iran Exports 235,000 Tons of Non-Oil Commodities in Five Months

Some 235,000 tons of Iranian non-oil commodities worth $119.7 million were exported in the period from March to August, a trade official said. 

The exported items registered a 35 percent growth in terms of weight and eight percent in terms of value compared to the corresponding period last year, the official told the Iranian news agency, IRNA. 

Saffron, shoes and non-leather slippers, clothing and biscuits were among the most important items exported from the province during the period.  

The goods were shipped to Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.  

Some 156,000 tons of non-oil commodities were imported to the country during the said period.  

The imported goods consisted of iron ware, chemical fertilizers, industrial machinery and lamps – Albawaba.com
