Iran's Majlis Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel on Thursday said that through "awareness and resistance" of Muslims and the Islamic states, the US plan for a greater Middle East is doomed to failure.
In a meeting with the visiting Syrian Prime Minister Naji al-Otari, he said the US and the West put Muslims under pressures under different pretexts everyday. According to IRNA, Haddad Adel further reiterated that Iran and Syria enjoy identical views on several regional developments including those of Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq.
Al-Otari, heading a high-ranking economic and political delegation, arrived in Tehran on Wednesday morning to attend a meeting of the Iran-Syria High Committee for Economic Cooperation. On this visit, the Syrian premier is accompanied by ministers of electricity, housing, transportation, industries, economy, culture and irrigation.
