WITH AN INVESTMENT OF US$ 3 MILLION: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES LAUNCH REGIONAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING CENTERS IN CAIRO

Under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Tarek Kamel, Egyptian Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Huawei Technologies will be officially inaugurating the new Regional Technical Assistance and Training Centers in Cairo. The ceremony will be held during the company’s customer conference taking place on December 4th, 2005 at City Stars Intercontinental. The ceremony will also be attended by His Excellency Mr. Wu Sike, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, as well as key industry players from around the Middle East and Africa.

The event will also, witnesses the signature of a new contract between Telecom Egypt and Huawei Technologies, for the supply and installation of the Telecom Egypt’s wireless fixed network using CDMA Technology. This contract will result in increasing Egypt’s fixed lines penetration rate, likewise increasing the quality of the voice services that Telecom Egypt will be offering to its customers. Huawei Technologies was selected for this project given its advanced technological capabilities, excellent quality of services delivered and extended professional services.

Covering an area of 3000 square meters and with an investment of US$3 Million, the new centers will provide professional and dedicated services and support to Huawei’s customers in the Middle East and Africa regions.

The Regional Technical Assistance Center (TAC) manages and caters to all customer requests including emergency support and restoration services, validation of solutions, and root investigations services, in addition to many other services all across the Middle East and Africa.

The Regional Training Center provides an all-round training program for customer’s senior engineers and technical experts through a modular curriculum. The program is developed with measurable objectives taking into consideration customers’ needs and Huawei’s full range of products and solutions.

It’s worth mentioning that, this launch of this center in Cairo will mark the inauguration of a series of other centers that will be opened in Russia, Tunisia and Gulf countries. Together with these future training centers, Huawei Technologies will be able to offer its customers a complete range of services and products that cover a vast and potentially important geographic region.
