ALBAWABA - According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Israeli troops from the elite "Egoz" unit, who are now fighting in southern Lebanon, have apparently had major arguments with their senior authorities.
According to the publication, tensions started when a unit commander's contentious choice resulted in a direct conflict with Hezbollah's "Radwan" soldiers, who are regarded as the organization's top unit. Israeli forces suffered losses as a consequence of this confrontation.
The troops' complaints about the way choices were made during the assault were verified by Israeli military investigations. They specifically voiced issues over service conditions, professional behavior, and the strategies used to target certain individuals. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) maintain their support for the commanders' choices in spite of the critiques, highlighting their trust in their ability to lead throughout the current combat operations.
After a fierce struggle at the start of Israel's military war in Lebanon, the Egoz troops began to show signs of discontent. The Israeli military is actively engaged in operations against Hezbollah at the moment of this tension, which is making the soldiers more irritated.
Before being requested to participate in more cross-border missions, the troops wanted explanations and modifications to the decision-making process, especially from their new leaders. Their demands for changes underscore the mounting strain among the unit after the fierce clashes with Hezbollah soldiers.
Officers in the Egoz unit are being redeployed to replace those killed or wounded during the fighting in southern Lebanon, and these internal conflicts occur at the same time.
