Move will allow HP to interact with customers and channel at closer proximity
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, April 30, 2006 – HP Middle East today opened its eighth office in the region, at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat. The opening signifies the latest step in a continued investment across the region and fulfils HP’s key objective to be closer to its customers and develop relationships with its channel. The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Joseph Hanania, Managing Director, HP Middle East and was attended by customers from the Sultanate.
“Oman is critical to our continued success and future growth in the Middle East region and we have great pride in opening HP’s first Omani premises at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat,” said Joseph Hanania.
“HP already has a strong track record of success in Oman, particularly within government, services, and finance. As Oman continues to strengthen its own position on the Middle East map, the new office will enable us to engage more closely with existing and potential customers, helping them achieve their personal and business goals through our leading-edge technology,” he added.
The Muscat office will also be a direct resource for HP’s Omani distributors and retailers. With the full support of the regional management team in the Dubai headquarters, HP Muscat will develop the channel in order to enhance the overall customer experience from pre-sale to support. HP operates a number of channel improvement programmes in the region and anticipates more participation from existing Omani partners as well as new partner signings following the office opening.
"HP’s ongoing success in Oman is dependent not only on winning new customers but on ensuring these customers have the right support at all stages of implementation, before, during and after sales,” said Hanania. “For this reason it is essential that we continue to integrate our Omani partners into our highly successful channel improvement programmes.”
Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Executive President, KOM said: “Knowledge Oasis Muscat is delighted to welcome HP as a tenant. We are confident that HP will add substantial value to Oman’s rapidly growing ICT sector.”
HP has been present in the Middle East since 1968, combining its ingenuity; engineering prowess and customer focus to help people in the region apply technology in meaningful ways to their business and personal lives. HP intends to work closely with its customers and channel to make technology, simple, available and manageable to the people of Oman. The Muscat office will advise and support the HP channel in its distribution of the full suite of HP technology and solutions including imaging and printing products, personal computing systems and enterprise solutions.
