ALBAWABA - The Houthi group released Yemeni model Entisar al-Hammadi on Saturday from detention after about five years, the model's lawyer Khaled al-Kamal said.
It is worth noting that the Yemeni model was kidnapped in February 2021 in Sanaa while heading to a photoshoot, local media reported, adding that Entisar al-Hammadi was arrested by Houthi militants with her two friends.
Dozens of activists, politicians and journalists slammed their abduction and called for the immediate release of the model and her colleagues. But, Houthis released her after five years, after she was charged with prostitution, drug abuse and fornication.
On the other hand, Entisar al-Hammadi's lawyer denied the charges, calling them false.
"Entisar al-Hammadi was released yesterday evening and is now in her home," her lawyer, Khaled al-Kamal, told AFP.
