French police on Wednesday removed a home-made bomb found outside a synagogue but the device, apparently lacking a detonator, did not explode, officials said.
The bomb, comprising a household gas canister attached to a pot of paint, was found outside a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Villeneuve-la-Garenne.
Police said they were alerted to the device, which was hidden underneath cardboard boxes, by an anonymous phone call.
The synagogue was empty at the time -- NANTERRE, France (AFP)
