Four Israeli soldiers were injured Friday afternoon as Hizbullah fired anti-tank rockets and mortars at Israeli positions in the occupied Shebaa Farms.
One soldier sustained light to moderate injuries, while three others were lightly wounded, Israeli media reports maintained.
This latest attack marks the first time in about two weeks that the Lebanese group has fired upon Israeli.
On Wednesday, a resident of Shlomi settlement was slightly injured when shrapnel fell in her yard from an anti-aircraft shell fired by Hizbullah gunners across the border. About 10 shells were apparently fired at Israeli aircraft flying near the border.
Earlier Friday, Israel freed and repatriated a Lebanese man after he had spent nearly nine years in jail, the International Committee for the Red Cross told AFP.
Mahmud Hamad Hammud, 39, crossed the border in an ICRC vehicle, said the ICRC delegate to Lebanon, Henry Fournier.
The ICRC was expected to take Hammud to the Lebanese army barracks in the southern port city of Tyre for questioning, police said.
They said Hammud was seized by the Israelis in 1993 from the village of Hamra. Hammud was sentenced to eight and a half years in jail in 1995, according to the police, who could not say what the charges against him were. (Albawaba.com)
