Hizbollah's air defense units opened Monday fire on Israeli warplanes flying through Lebanese airspace in the western sector of the southern part of Lebanon, the Daily Star reported Tuesday.
The resistance group's brief statement gave no other details, said the daily.
According to the Beirut-based paper, Israeli warplanes regularly violate the country's airspace, occasionally drawing anti-aircraft fire from the resistance.
Staffan de Mistura, personal representative of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in southern Lebanon, has repeatedly criticized the fly-overs and urged Israeli leaders to refrain from violating Lebanon's territorial integrity, the report said - Albawaba.com
