A top level American media delegation currently on a visit to Egypt hailed President Hosni Mubarak as “very popular statesman” and a peacemaker in the Middle East, the daily Al Messa reported.
The 20-strong delegation comprising newspapers editors in chief and program designers representing major American newspapers and TV networks such as USA Today and CNN met Sunday with the Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Mamdouh Al Biltagi and discussed Egypt’s
role in the regional developments.
The delegates praised Egypt’s tourism which attracted more than 235,000 American tourists last year.
But the minister took the opprunity to underline his country’s political stand regarding the Middle East situation.
“Despite our admiration of the American people … and the scientific and economic achievements, we demand that the US deal justly with the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,” Biltagi said -- Albawaba.com
