Four Emarati students are getting ahead in their careers by spending the summer working for the largest car rental network in the world.
The students Jabir Abdullah Alawi (16), Suleman Abdulla (21), Sana Abdul Rahman (15), and Fawzia Mohammed (19), will spend five weeks over the summer developing business skills as they sample life at Hertz UAE.
Before being put to work in a range of departments they will be given a detailed induction to Hertz UAE, which operates 13 car rental locations within the Emirates and in May launched a dedicated call centre to deal with all international car rental reservations from the country.
The company also operates a 24 hour call centre to deal with inbound bookings and is part of a Hertz global network with 7,400 locations in over 150 countries.
Sarah Isaacs, HR and Training Manager at Hertz UAE, said: “By giving local youngsters the opportunity to gain work experience with us we hope to impart valuable work skills that will lift their career prospects in the future.
“So far I have been extremely impressed with the enthusiasm and desire to learn shown by all four.”

Jabir, a pupil at Al Mawakeb School, said that Hertz was his first choice for work experience because of the company’s size and presence across the Middle East.
He said: “Working at Hertz is helping me get a feel for business life and I am really enjoying working in the finance department learning how companies carry out their transactions.
“When I leave school I hope to study business management and finance at university, and then work in the finance department of a large firm – maybe even Hertz.”
