A recent poll in Israel reveals that around half of all Israelis favor holding negotiations between the Israeli government and Hamas, despite its involvement in many suicide attacks against Israelis.

The survey also revealed that a large majority of Israelis are in favor of a peace agreement with the Palestinians within the framework of peace negotiations set by former U.S. president Bill Clinton.

The survey, conducted by the Truman Institute in Jerusalem and the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) in Ramallah, showed that some 50 percent of Israelis would opt for negotiations with Hamas in order to reach a final peace agreement with the Palestinians.

Approximately 47 percent of Israelis, according to the poll, are against negotiations with the Movement which Israel labels a "terror organization."
