Gunmen fired several shots early Tuesday near the Japanese embassy in Baghdad, causing no casualties or damage, its charge d'affaires Tsukasa Uemura said.
"It was close to the embassy, at 3:00 am (local time), our security fired back. We don't know the intentions of the gunmen", he said.
The incident came as Japan issued a warning to its nationals travelling abroad following an alleged al-Qaeda threat to attack Tokyo if Japan dispatches forces to join the US-led occupation in Iraq. (Albawaba.com)
