Palestinian gunmen in Khan Yunis opened fire Sunday on a school in the Neve Dekalim Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip, reported The Jerusalem Post newspaper, quoting the army radio.

The report said that several bullets hit the building, but there were no injuries.

The settlement has been the target of Palestinian gunfire in the past few weeks.

The Israeli army tripled the number of soldiers protecting the Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank for fears of Palestinian attacks.

In the meantime, the Israeli education ministry said Sunday that children in West Bank settlements would be allowed to attend lessons via modem on their home computer, according to Haaretz newspaper.

The remote learning program is intended for children unable to get to schools as a result of the escalating situation -- Albawaba.com
