Gulfy, the new Gulf Air icon, will be present at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) during 10, 11 and 12 March greeting and entertaining Formula One fans and visitors.

Gulfy, a life-size cartoon character, was unveiled to a large gathering of school children, teachers, parents, Gulf Air patrons and media persons last week in Bahrain and Oman.

"We want to add up as much colour and fun as possible to the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2006 event, which has already grabbed worldwide attention," says Gulf Air Vice President Marketing and Sales Danny Barranger.

"Gulfy will provide the essential fun element to the occasion that will bring more cheers and jubilation to the crowd creating a festive atmosphere."

"We have also brought in a giant Gulf Air Balloon to BIC to add more colour and excitement to the grand event of the year."

During the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in 2006, Gulfy will appear on the merchandise stand each day greeting visitors through a Sky Nanny.  He will also step off the stand on occasions to interact with larger groups of children or those who are unable to access the stand area easily. This will also enable him to provide photo opportunities for families and, meet and greet guests passing through the merchandise area generating an atmosphere of fun and frolic.

Created as an enhancement to Gulf Air's award-winning Sky Nanny service, Gulfy will be appearing in several places and occasions in Bahrain and Oman entertaining, engaging and enthralling both children and adults alike.
