Member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned the series of attacks on vital US buildings which killed and injured thousands of people.
UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan sent a cable of condolence to President George W. Bush on the death hundreds of people in the criminal attacks in United States, reported the Gulf News.
"The government of the UAE strongly condemns these terrorist attacks," said a statement.
"These criminal attacks necessitate a strong and comprehensive international campaign to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," it added.
In Manama, Bahrain’s emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Issa al Khalifa sent a message to Bush, expressing his condolences over the attacks, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) .
“Those terrorist acts are against all religions, and principles of humanity,” he said in the message.
Oman also condemned the attack, said KUNA.
“The Sultanate of Oman condemns the terrorist attacks on the United States.”
A foreign ministry statement said Oman is shocked and dismayed at the terrorist attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, which inflicted massive human and material losses.
“Oman denounces the horrifying attacks and is confident that the American people will overcome all the pain caused by such terrorist acts,” the statement said -- Albawab
