GITEX 2001, the Middle East's largest IT event, to be held at the Dubai World Trade Center, October 14-18, will feature the launch of numerous new PCs, notebooks and pocket-PCs offering wireless Internet connectivity, according to a GITEX press release.
According to IDC preliminary data, PC shipments grew 4.4 percent in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in Q1 2001, fuelled mainly by strong business sales and double-digit growth in notebook sales, the release said.
