A Palestinian suicide bomber blew herself up near Israeli soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, injuring one soldier, the Israeli army said, according to Reuters. "A woman suicide bomber exploded near our forces and preliminary information shows one soldier was slightly wounded," an army spokesman said.
Residents of the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun confirmed the suicide bombing.
Meanwhile, a second Palestinian kindergarten pupil succumbed to serious wounds suffered in the Israeli missile raid on Monday that exploded near a bus carrying the children en route to their kindergarten north of the Gaza Strip. Medical sources said that Mohammed Ashur was the second victim in the "vicious raid" against a busload of schoolchildren. Ten others, mostly children, were injured including a woman, who is reportedly in a critical condition.
Erlier, another Palestinian child was killed by the Israeli shelling on the bus in the Sheikh Zayed area to the north of the Gaza Strip. Medical sources said Mahmoud Al-Sharafi was critically wounded and died hours later.
For its part, the PA interior ministry's back-up force confirmed that six of its members were killed while confronting the Israeli invasion of the northern Gaza Strip that started on Wednesday and claimed the lives of more than 50 Palestinians and wounded more than 220 others so far.
